Thousands of panic-stricken refugees are arriving at Constantinople from the Crimea in all sorts of vessels, large and small, m addition to warships. Many are suffering from wounds and exposure. The hospitals in Constantinople are overcrowded, and the influx is causing a shortage of food.

Refugees state that the " Reds " attacked Sebastopol from the east and north sending clouds of poison gas against the efenders, who were not supplied with masks, and suffered enormous casualties.
