Mr. G. W. Woods, postmaster at Pahiatua, has been transferred to a similar position at Stratford.
Mr. Ernest Clarke, brother of Sir Rupert Clarke, Bart., arrived at "Wellington from Melbourne by the Westrajia on Mr.day.
Messrs. C. L. SlySeld and C. Mcintosh have been appointed sinking fund commissioners to the One Tree Hill Road Board.
The Hon. W. H. Triggs, M.L.C.. who was recently a patient m a private ho*, pital in Wellington, has returned to his home in Christchurch.
Mr. W. J. Bone, of the Dannevi-.-ke branch of the Bank of New Zealand, bap been appointed accountant at the Nani? r branch of the bank.
The Rev. A. A. Murray and Mr. A. W. Campbell left for Wellington by the Ms in Trunk express last evening, to attend the meetings of the Presbyterian Genera! A* sembly. *
Mr. P. S cliff, general manager of th» Christchurch Press Company, who attended the Empire Press Concrress in Canada, and afterwards went to England returned to New Zealand by the Mar.uk? on Monday.
