Sir,—Referring to the subject of old a/~ek pensions, there are cases of widows w^ Q have to pay 4s weekly for a room the least possible charge. A few years ago a small cottage could be secured for ss. This 4s. with tire, light and sundries, independent of footwear and clothes, leaves a very small margin for food. Amelia Davis.
