CENSORSHIP OF FILMS.
PROPRIETORS CONCERNED. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON', Thursday. A .deputation of picture theatre proprietors waited - on the Minister for Internal Affairs to-day to ascertain the nature of the legislation if, has been suggested is to be introduced regarding |he censorship of films and publicity matter. The deputation said it understood the new Bill would control all publicity matter. The Hon. G. J. Anderson*: We' hope so.
The Minister added that the Government did not wish to interfere with the business of the firms, but it did intend to prevent anything suggestive appearing in films or advertisements. If the proprietors did not transgress the law they would not be interfered with.
