TE AROHA LOAN POLL.
NEW BRIDGE OVER RIVER. PROPOSAL NOT CARRIED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA, Thursday. A poll on a proposal to erect a new concrete bridge over the Waihou River, in Te Aroha, has been completed. The proporal was carried in the borough, but was rejected by the ratepayers in the Piako County, the necessary three-fifths majority not being obtained. The rejection of the proposal is attributed to lack of public interest. The present bridge is very dilapidated, and.is too narrow.
