LOWELL THOMAS. The J. C. Williamson management announce that the Lowell Thomas season, which was to have concluded on Saturday, will be extended until "Wednesday next. A matinee will be held on Saturday afternoon and on Wednesday afternoon.

NEW PICTURE PROGRAMMES. The following are the -new programmes announced by the managements of Auckland picture theatres for the week commencing to-day or to-morrow : — " Calibre 38 " is the title of the new picture to be shown, at the Hippodrome Theatre to-morrow. ' The filming was done by the producer of " The Barrier." and other wellknown screen works. The cast is headed by Mitchell Lewis. The etory is one that involves both the east and the west of the United States, but the .greater part of the action takes place in a western mining camp, where a gang of scoundrels becomes responsible for the death of a capitalist, who is travel! with his only son. The gang fastens the crime _on the boy, who, with the aid of a beautiful girl, a native of the country, fights hie wa# to freedom and secures the punishment of the murderers after a series of wild adventures. The title of the story ie derived from the fact that the shot that killed the boy's father came from a .38 calibre revolver, which was proved to have been the property of one of the criminals _ Not the least exciting incident in the picture is the hero's escape from ; -<* lynched by a mob convinced of hia guilt. ' Ihe Country Cousin." featuring Elaine ITammerstein, will be screened at the Lyric Theatre to-morrow. "The Cost," with Violet Heming in the principal role, will be shown at the Tivoli Theatre to-morrow. Norma Talmadge will appear in " A Daughter of Two Worlds," screening at the Strand Theatre to-morrow. " The Caillaux Case" will be shown tomorrow at the Queen's Theatre. Dorothy Dalton takes the leading Tole in " Black Is White," to be shown at the Princess Theatre to-morrow.

" The Mother of His Children," featuring Gladys Brockwell, and " Love's Harvest," with Shirley Mason in the lead, are the two new features screening at the National Theatre to-ri&y. '' Thou Art The Man," with Robert Warwick playing the principal part, is showing 'at Everybody's Theatre to-day. " Love in a Hurry." starring Erelyn Greeley, will be shown at the Grand Theatre tomorrow.
