EGG-LAYING CONTEST.

RESULTS AT MOUNT ALBERT. THE 28TH WEEK'S PRODUCTIONThe twenty-eighth -week of the Auckland Poultry keepers' Association's second singlepen and team egg-laying contest concluded on Monday. The three sections, consisting of 504 birds, laid 2524 eggs. The 40 teams of light breeds producing 1223. the 32 teams ot heavy breeds 876; and the 12 teams of ducks 425. Individual ducks laid 33 possibles, the ligat breeds 18, and the heavy breeds 13. The heavy breeds showed a decreased production, the Slack Orpingtons not laying quite so well. The Silver Wyandottes as a section have laid well and ass close to leading positions in teams aggregates, Master E. Schnackenberg'a team being only 21 eggs behind G H. Shaw's team of Black Orpingtons, which now leads the heavy breeds. Both these teams have laid consistently for some time past. The individual aggregates are led try W. H. C. Vennall s No. 3 Indian Runner with 186, . followed by S. H. Scott's No. 2 Whits Indian Runner with 180, Mrs. McCullagh's i Wo. 1 White Indian Runner being third with 179. In the light breeds (fowls). C. I Thomas' No. 1 leads with 158, E. W. GrifI fith's No. 3 is second with 152, and T. D. Bell's No. 1 and J. W. Williams No. 6 tie for third place with 147, (all White Leghorns). In the heavy breeds, E. Haugard's i No. J? and R. S. Higginbotham's No. 5 tie for first place with 150. H. G- Pirritt'a No 2 is second with 149. with A. S. Holmes'' No. 5, Wise Bros., No. 6, and Hon. C. H. Izard's No. 6 a tie for third place with* 145, (all Black Orpingtons). The following are the Reading teams aggregates with their individual scores: —
