NftW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. [Bt TELEGttAJS.— ASSOCIATION.} CfiBISTCHTJRCH, Saturday. At » meeting of the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association, it was decided that H. S. Williams, the association's representative in England, should represent the council. at the International Conference at * Antwerp. It was reported that proficiency certificates had been issued a* .follows:— Wellington, 473; Wanganui, 354; fiawke's Bay, 345; Maoaw&tu. 256; Auckland. 168; South Auckland. 118; Otago, 106: Canterbury, 89; South Canterbury, 77; *Westland, 44. It was pointed , out that - Manawatu centre's performance in securing fourth place in the first year of its existence was a remarkable one. It was decided after the present season to issue no rcedalß to those placed second in schools' provincial championships.
