The report showed that the club had had a successful Bcsson, but. moro members wore required to meet ■ tho increasing cost of up-keep. ' The club did. creditably in tho Lambert Cup • matches, •finishing filth in its section, and the teams playing in tournaments had fair records. , RATING OF BOWLING CLUBS. Tho Carlton: Clnb at its annual meeting decided to submit tho following remit to th.v Auckland Centre of tho New Zealand Bowling Association: — That all sports clubs- owning private grounds should receive preferential treatment in respect to the rates which they pay to tho City Council, on the ground that such clubs cater for the health and welfare of the nation; and that tho Auckland Centre be asked to ventilate this proposal at tlie annual meeting of delegates."
