Dr. H. G. H. Monk, who has" b*» district health officer At Auckland for a considerable time, left by tho -Main TJiunk express last evening for Wanganui, to take chaise of that hailth district. On Saturday moraine ho was presented ' with a case of pipes by Dr. P. H. Buck, acting on behalf of the health officer's staff. Mrs. Monk -was preesnted with a cream-jug. The Auckland district will be controlled by Dr. T. J. Hughe?:, no* district health officer for Otago, who was formerly stationed here. Be will arrive early next month. • and in the meantime Dr. H. Cbesson will bo in charge. ; ;4 i
