RETURNED SOLDIER'S DEATH.
MOTOR-CAR CAPSIZES,
FAILURE OF STEERING GEAR. [BT IEtEOBAPH.-—PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Mr. Sydney Small, a returned soldier, who was in Christchurch on his honeymoon from Invercargill, was killed this afternoon by the overturning of a motorcar on the road at Bromley. ' There were''several men in the car, and at & sharp turn of the road the steering geav became locked, and the driver, Mr. McCausland, could not tum,the car, and it overturned. All the occupants were pmnc<i beneath the car, Mr. Small being killed instantaneous'y. Mr. McCausland was severely cut about the legs The others escaped with a few scratches.
