SCHOOLS REMAIN CLOSED.
THE INFLUENZA OUTBREAK. TOTAL OP 141 CASES YESTERDAY. The schools in the Auckland health district, which were closed on Thursday, April 29, on account of the prevalence of influenza, are to remain closed during next week. The. Health Department in announcing this decision yesterday stated that the position , would be reviewed at the end of that period. The Auckland Technical College and the primary schools at Coromandel and Mercury Bay are not included in the order for closing. , The cases of influenza notified to the district health officer during the 24 hours ended at noon, yesterday numbered 132 mild and nine severe, aa compared with 119 mild and 10 severe during the preceding 24 hours. The distribution of yesterday's cases.was:— City,27 mild, 1 severe; suburbs, 65 mild, 3 severe; country district*, 10 mild, 1 severe: Ohura, 1 mild; Matamata, i 13 1 mild; Huntly, 4 mild,' ■ 1 severe; Hinuern, 1 severe; Morrinsvillej 2 mild; Hikutaia, 1 mild Waihi, 1 mild; Tauranga, 8 mild; Mangaiti, 2 severe.
