SACRILEGIOUS GERMAN CRIME A »nd N.Z. BERLIN, April 29, Two blacksmiths stole treasure from Hildi-shaim Cathedral worth nvllions of rr.arks. apart from its unknown artistic value. Thev took five hows to bore holes through the'strong door and the safe. The 1...K included an eleventh century pyx, a ".-.id , ip worth £60.000, and a mediaeval image of the Virgin, encrusted with jewel-, all of which the tlveves broke up. '1 lie; were arrested directly they reached Berl'tl w.ih the gold and jewels.
