HOSPITAL FINANCE.
ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR.
LEVY ON LOCAL BODIES.
The estimates for the ensuing year were adopted last evening by the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The total expenditure was estimated at £131,402, inchiding bank overdraft £13,673, hospital maintenance £64,700, dental £1900 Alexandra Home £900, Costley Home £16,000, charitable aid £14,550, administration £4800, rente, etc, £7000, and sinking fund £1000. The estimated receipt* TS*- £31,925, including hospital fees £20,000 The balance of £99,477 is to be raised by a levy of .28 of one penny in the pound on the capital value of the various contributing local bodies, of an arare&ate value of £47,043.779, realising £54,884 8s 2d, and by the Government subsidy of 16s 3d in the pound on the amount paid by the respective local bodies, producing £44 503 lis 3d. The proportion paid V local bodies is equivalent to 41.8 per cent, the Government subsidy 33.9 per cent,,' the board's earnings amounting to 24.3 per cent. *^
