BRITISH APPEAL FOR FUNDS A.'and N.Z. LONDON, April 27. At a meeting of the British Olympic Association the secretary said that a minimum of £13.000 was required to secure adequate British representation at the Olympic Games. Only £1600 had been raised, and unless more is forthcoming British representation will necessarily be reduced; indeed, there is a prospect of Britain withdrawing altogether. A recent cable message stated that the opinu/n of the controlling athletic bodies is divided regarding the advisability of holding the Olympic Games this year. The majority consider that the wastage of -nen ir war time precludes strong British representation In deference to the wishes of Belgium, the associations are sportingly endeavouring to raise- teams through trials which will culminate in the Athletic Association's championships beginning in July. The programme of the Olympic Games to be held at Antwerp is almost identical with that of the last meeting at Stockholm. The dates of the closing of entries and the dates of the competitions are as follow : —
