CLABBY V. UREN. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION".] NAPIER. Wednesday. The fifteen Tound contest for a purse of £550 between T. Uren (Australia) and J. Clabby, of the United States, went the full fifteen rounds. The referee awarded a draw.
BANTAM CHAMPIONSHIP.
BIGGINS DEFEATS BLACKBURN. A. and N.Z. LONDON. April 27. In a 20-round match for tbe bantam championship at the National Sporting Club. Matt Higgins (England) defeated Vince Blackburn (Australia) on points. It wan an exhilarating fight. Higgins had the best of the earlier rounds, but Blackburn improved after the sixth, and was a strong favourite for a time. Higgins seemed to have shot his bolt, and Blackburn added to his points until the 14th round, when Higgins made a great effort and kept up a long onslaught, though Blackburn cleverly avoided a. knock-out.
