NOVELTY IN DRESS.
WONDERFUL EXHIBITION. LONDON, April 20. Women's novelties at the Islington Exhibition include white kid trimmings to black gowns instead of braid ; waistcoats made entirely of kid, which are handpainted or embroidered in Oriental colours; and embroidered veils, described as very coquettish, the bottoms of which. resemble an old-fashioned clock. They are fastened : th a ribbon bow, and released from above when the wearer is drinking tea. The exhibit on justifies the promise of bizarre specialities. Mannequns of all types, sizes, and ages are employed to show off the dresses. A startling bareback gown, held up by strings" of diamonds, ending in a long fishtrain, made the visitors, gasp.
