NORTHCOTE BOROUGH.
' .«■ : The Northccte Borough Council met lass evening. The Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade. presided. The Devonport Perry Company wrote in response to the council's overtures, which were endorsed by the Birkenhead Council, that the company was building a, pew steamer, on the completion of which the directors proposed to run a vessel of the Albatross .type on the Northcote and Birkenhead service, in conjunction with the Albatross. The Mayor and Messrs. Richardson and Stewart were appointed to confer with the waterworks engineer relative to the latter's recommendations for additions to the waterworks plant.
