THEFT CHARGE ADMITTED.
SEAMAN PLACED ON PROBATION'. A charge of stealing £3 10s, belonging to a fellow-seaman on the Rimu, was admitted by Thomas Joseph Antony, aged 21, in the Police Court yesterday, before Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M. On the recommendation of the probation officer the accused was admitted to probation for a year, on strict conditions. DISORDERLY WHILE DRUNK. Charges of be-ng drunk, using obscene language, and causing some damage to a motor-car, were preferred against John Mac Donald. It was stated that the damage to the motor-car was caused by the accused kicking at it when arrested. He was fined £5 for obscene language, and was ordered to pay 10s for the damage to the car, while on the charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged. For disorderly conduct while drunk. Thomas Edwards was fined £4. It was staled that accused created a disturbance at a theatre on Monday' evening.
