Advices from Simla, dated April 8, state that the Derajat column returned to Kaniguram after two days in the Mahsud country. The Nazer G:*akhel Mahsuds, who had delivered up their rifles, did not resist the column, but the Aboul Rehmankbel Mahsuds, assisted by the Shakai (iv'aziris, refused to deliver up their rifles. Die tribesmen occupied a precipitious ridge, which Gurkha 8 carried against heavy fire. Our casualties were light. The enemy's casualties "were heavy.
