BOXING.

THE AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Auckland Boxing Association ml! be held in the Sports* C'ubrooms on Friday evening. The annual report states that the past season has been, one* of the moat successful in the history of the _ association. The competitors attained a high standard, and the interest displayed by the public was evidenced by the greatly increased attendances. The net profit an the year's operations amounted to £492, which must be considered extremely gratifying. In addition donations had absorbed £133, while £57 was' expended in effecting repairs and alterations to the staging, which was now in first-class order. The accumulated funds, with the inclusion of the year's surplus, amounted to £1044 I9s. During the season, seven. nights' boxing were held, opening with an amateur carnival in July. One-half oi the net proceeds, £1155, was donated to the Beturned Soldiers' Clair gymnasium equipment- fund. Five professional contests ware held, and the standard of boxing displayed and the support accorded by the public proved the wisdom of* the Match Committee in seccxing the best talent available. . CLABBY V. LLOYD. A fifteen-rounds contest between J. Ciabby and A- Lloyd for & purse of £500 will be "decided at the Town Hall on Monday evening. Both boxers are at present in teaming, and a most interesting match is anticipated. Clabby is ■probably the most clever exponent of the art who has been seen in Auckland, and he will take a lot of beating. However, reports show that Lloyd is right at the top of his form, and can be relied on to make an even better showing than he did against Tracey, when he was defeated on points only after a strenuous fifteen-rounds contest. A cumber of interesting amateur bouts have been arranged. MATCHES ARRANGED. J. Keenst has been matched with L. Eobineoi for the feather-weight championship of New Zealand, and the contest will fc-ke place at Blenheim on May 5. Fritz Holland, the well-known Australian boxer, is coming to Wellington to meet Urea early next month.
