THE MANCHESTER UNITY* -IN- AUCKLAND AT EASTEB. The New Zealand branch* of the Manchester Unity Oddfeßowsv is holding its biennial conference in Auckland during Easter. Messrs. E. W. Watt, grand .. master, John Kershaw, corresponding secretary, G. E. Godber, treasurer, and •Vagus'members of the board of direcr tore will arrive from Wellington this •afternoon. Delegates will attend from Ashnurton, Ashley, Hawke's Bay, Marlborough, Motueka, Nelson, New Plymouth. XL Gunson, at noon oh Tuesday next at the Town EalL | It" is 16 years since the conference, met - in Auckland, and many changes have since taken place in the Friendly Society movement. The New Zealand branch, of tie Manchester unity discharged its obligations to its soldier members by- paying . the whole of the contributions and bene- ■ fits of the members while on active service, entailing the expenditure of a large sum of money. This liability has been met by direct levy upon the members, leaving the ordinary funds of the society intact.
LOYAL GOOD INTENT LODGE.
ROLL OF HONOUR UNVEILED.
The Loyal Good Intent Lodge of the Manchester Unity met last evening, Mr. W. J. Edwards, noble grand, presiding. An honours board was unveiled, containing the names of 89 past officers of the lodge, from its inception in 1850, and the names of lodge members who took part in the war—77 in all, of whom nine paid Use supreme sacrifice. The unveiling ceremony was performed by Mr. William Thomas, deputy grand master for New Zealand.-
