AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

The final payments for the Auckland Cup, Railway Handicap, Great Northern Foal Stakes, and Royal Stakes, together with acceptances for several minor events, were originally fixed to close yesterday afternoon, but with a fear existing that pressure on the telegraph wires might lead to some acceptances arriving late, it was deemed advisable to alter the date of closing till to-day at 11 a.m..

The Northern Wairoa Racing Club have extended the time for closing of nominations in connection with their annual meeting to Monday next at 5 p.m.

IMPORTANT BLOODSTOCK SALE.

The sale of bloodstock to be conducted at Epsom on December 31 by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company will give those engaged in racing the thoroughbred an opportunity of securing some highly-bred stock. At the time of writing 52 lots' figure on the catalogue, so that it may be assumed plenty of material will be on hand to engage the attention of buyers. First on the list is a collection of nine highly-bred Australian two-year-olds imported by Mr. G. T. Niccol, of Remuera, and that gives the approaching sale especial importance. The draft from the Waikanae Stud number four, Messrs. Patterson Brothers send up six from One-tree Hill, and a like '■ number are catalogued on account of Messrs. W. Dunn and Sons, owners of the Waihou Stud. Mr. Charlton Dawson's stud is represented by a trio, and a brace are to come from Glenora Park. A number of brood mares and several racers are entered to go into the ring, and the various lots will be found fully described in an advertisemen'. appearing in another column. JOCKEYS' ASSOCIATION. The New Zealand Jockeys' Association are to move in the matter of attempting to gain consideration for the removal of the present outside charge of admittance to jockeys, trainers and attendants at Ellerslie meetings. The association recently brought under the. notice of the president of the Racing Conference several matters which cropped up at recent meetings relating principally to the payment of jockey's fees, and also asking that some better understanding may be arrived at regarding the rightful use of jockeys' rooms at race meetings.
