NEW ZEALAND'S COMPLAINT
LACK OF SHIPS AND STORES. NO SPACE FOR PRODUCE.A. and N.Z. " LONDON, Dec. 5. Sir Thomas Mackenzie (High Commissioner for New Zealand), speaking at Stafford, said that the New Zealand farmer had accepted low prices for his produce in order to help British consumers after much pressure. Meat was now sold in England at prices approximating the cost, but not wool or butter. The stores and docks were congested with wool and other produce, and space was not available. New Zealand meat ships were delayed by this condition of affairs. Sir Thomas Mackenzie was promised that this would not occur. He made constant representations to the Home Government. The New Zealand authorities were greatly dissatisfied at the lack of ships and storage.
