"PROHIBITION SUNDAY."
" Prohibition Sunday " was observed | yesterday in a number of the Auckland churches, following on a recent decision of the Auckland Ministers' Association to make the day a special occasion for united intercession for the cause of prohibition. Suitable sermons were delivered in most oi the Baptist churches, and in several of the Methodist churches. Mrs. Eva Wheeler gave an address on " The Church and Prohibition " at the morning service in the Franklin Road Methodist Church. In some instances -hours of prayer were devoted to the cause. A prohibition lecture was delivered by the Rev. R. S. Gray in Quay Street on Saturday evening. A large crowd gathered to hear the address, and accorded the speaker a good hearing.
