ROME, Nov. 26 Lord Crawford, Chancellor oi ' the Duchy of Lancaster, speaking at ; the Inter-Allied Economic Commit i tee, declared that control of coal production and distribution was at unsupportable burden on the British taxpayer, adding that in the pasl 16 months the Treasury had losl £400,000 a week. The only solution of the problem lay in increased pro duction, not only in England, but ir France and the rest of Europe. Mr. Cecil Harmsworth, Pa'rliamen ' tary Under-Secretary for Foreigr | Affairs, said that the question oi ] supplying Austria with necessities : concerned not only the Allies, but ] the whole world. The Economic ; Council had neither the power noi ; the means to meet the necessity. '• The council decided to continue tht Inter-Allied agreement regarding food supplies after December 3] next, the date originally fixed for it: expiry.
