POSSESSION OF A FARM.

■ i SETTLEMENT DISPUTED. A dispute regarding possession of a i farm at Papatootoe between the vendor and purchaser came before Mr. J. W. I'oyiitoti. S.M., at the Magistrate's Court ': yesterday. The plaintiff, Isaac. G. Gray j (Mr. Ostler >, claimed £48 10s 2d from ; Wilfred Johnstone (Mr. Prendergast), alleged to be balance, of unpaid purchase I money and interest and value of half a stack of hay. Counsel for the plaintiff stated that the defendant had purchased '. about 400 acres of hind at Papatoetoe from the plaintiff for £57,715. The dispute arose about the apportionment and ' date of settlement, and plaintiff alleged lie was entitled to the amount claimed, in addition to an amount that, had been paid and accepted without prejudice. 1 Alter hearing evidence, the case wa* adjourned until Saturday morning, wnen counsels' addresses will be hoard.
