The Nationalist delegations have appealed to the Egyptians to seize their independence. The appeal says: "We are the masters of Egypt, and will write a glorious history. All ranks and occupations must do their duty. Grasp your sacred rights." Moderate Egyptians criticise the British announcement of a new constitution as vague.
