The Government requisition of meat was to expire in JUne, 1920. and freezing companies considered it desirable that the requisition should be extended for another year. Otherwise there would be a difficulty in clearing the stores. Mr. W. G. Sheiratt_asked why the sum of £1800 preliminary expenses appeared in the i assets. The secretary, Mr. A. V. Myers, I said that although this item was really a bad.debt it had to be placed somewhere and the only place was among the assets. I The defect in the work of the preserving ! department was the subject of a good deal jof discussion. In reply to Mr. R. King, the chairman explained that the company had obtained the best foreman available for this work, but, nevertheless a loss had occurred. The matter had been referred to experts for investigation and every step was bein" takon to remedy the matter. After considerable d.scussion a motion that a works manager be appointed was lost, an amendment being earned that that matter be 'eft to the decision cf the directors.
