THE THIBTY-SECOND WEEK.

FOWLS LAY 31 POSSIBLES. Tlifl thirty-second week of the Auckland Pouiteytaepera' Association's first sinslc-pen and team cKS-laying competition concluded on Monday. The 41 teams of light breed* showed a decrease .in the number of csk» laid, while the 31 teams of hoary breeds improved, despite a good amount of broodi-U-38S. The lisht breeds laid 1106, and the heavy breeds; 754 eggs, a total o£ 1860. Thirty-ono possibles were laid by tho individual birds, 2'2 in tho heavy breeds, and wine in the light breeds. Mr. G. H. Shaw's No. 1 Black Orpington completed a .sequence of 87 estja in (57 days, a remarkable run of continuous laying for low.a. Mr. G. E. Moody's No. « White Leghorn, the ieadinc fowl of both sections, with aiioil.nr possible, is now 181, and has laid tl- ©gjra in iho last 42 days- This bird now leads tho Wheat I»oghorn individual score | m New Zeu.and, tho next highest beins ISO. The same breeder's No. -2 bird is Hocond in the light breeds, with 175. Jbmail's No. i third. 174; D. Bell's No. 6, •villi a possible, secures fourth place, with 173; while J. William's No. 3, A-, O. Hoiehwoy's No. 6, and J. Johnson's No. 1 are a lie for fifth p.aco. All are White Li-shonna. In tho heavy broods H- G. Perron's No. 1 Black Orpington was first, with 177. R. M. Copland's No. 6 Black Orpmglon second 175. J. Owen's No. 3 White Rock and C. H. Izard's No. 4 Black Orpington tic for third place, with 174, whilo L. G. Eayr's No. 1 Silver Wyandotte, K.
