AUCKLAND SPRING MEETING.

TO-MORROW'S PROGRAMME.

Everything promises well for the successful inauguration of the A.B.C. Spring Meeting at Ellerslie to-morrow, and the welcome change in the weather conditions plays a very important and pleasing part in the situation. The first event is timed to be started about noon, and the programme

will be run off in the following order: — Maiden Hurdle Race (one mile and a-half). Great Northern Guineas (one mile), Welcome Stakes (five furlongs), Onehunga Steeplechase (about three miles). Shorts- Handicap (six furlongs), Mitchelson Cup (one mile and a-quarter), Hobson Handicap (six furlongs). Flying Handicap (seven furlongs).

ELLERSLEE TRAINING NOTES. The outside of the course proper at EllerBlie yesterday was again open for fast work, but the heavy showers which fell overnight made the track on the dead side, while halfway through the early morning work a halt was caused for about an hour by a rain storm.

Loved One and Clonmel were among the early toilers, sprinting down from the four furlong post in the vicinity of 535.

War Tank had Flowing Bowl for a. companion from the new five-furlong post in a shade more than lm 7s.

Bedford hit out freely for six furlongs of the tan in fair time.

Kilbeggan showed some dash when she accounted for Slowcoach from the six-furlong post home in little worse than lm 20s. a good gallop.
