GERMAN TRADE PLANS.
SOUTH AMERICAN CAMPAIGN. HOST OF TRAVELLERS ON WAY A. and N.Z. LONDON. Sect. 17. Mr. Charles Tower, the Times correspondent at Berlin, reports that Germany is sending a host of commercial travellers to the Argentine, where they hope to seize the trade from America, promising to absorb the whole surplus production of wheat, meat, hides and wool. Americans living in Germany are being placated for trade reasons, the argument being that as America suffered few casualties in the war they should forgive and forget. On the other hand French merchants are compelled to buy in Germany, which is the only place where French money is at a premium.
