BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

There was continued activity on the sharemarket yesterday. In banks, buyers of-Australasias advanced offers £1 to £129, no sellers qnoting. For Union of Australia £59 15s was offered, but there were no sellers. Sellers of New Zealands still asked £15, and of fully paid issue £19. In insurances New Zealands were firm at 34s 6d, buyers 34s 3d. South British were also firmly held- at £9 10a, with buyers offering £9 Bs, In financial lines River Plates sold at 43s 6dj with late sellers at 45a, and buyers at 435. Coaja were in better demand. Hiknrangis were wanted at 9s, with sellers at lis. Northerns (10s paid) had buyers at 7s sd, sellers'--Bs. Taupiris were sought at 16s, sellers IBs. In shipping, P. and O.'a (deferred) were decidedly firmer, business being reported at £590, with further buyers at £585, and no sellers quoting. Northerns wer© firm at 17s 9d sellers, 17s 2d buyers, and contributing issue were wanted at 8s 7d, with sellers asking' 9s. In woollens, Kaiapois (ord.) were looked for at £8, and (pref.) at) £7. In miscellaneous lines Colonial Sugars (Aust.) had sustained demand at £25 10s, and there were sellers at £27. For Piii and New Zealand issue £20 10s was offered, without attn-hing sailers. Buyers of New Zealand Refrigerating raised offers from 91s to 92s 6d. no sellers quoting. A sale was reported in S. R. Maxwell's at 325, and Wilsons Cements changed hands at 16s. New Zealand War Loans. 1930, sold at £96 ss, and 1938 at £95 10s. In mining Talismans were a shade firmer, business being done at 10s 3d and 10s 4d , sellers closing at 10s 6d. buvers at 10s 3d. Waihis were hold at 47s 9d, buvers 47s 3d. Grand Junctions sold at 14s 9d.
