ADVERTISING CLUB.
Papers on "Advertising and Who Pays For It " were read at the last meeting of the Auckland Advertising Club by the chairman, Mr. R. A. Laidlaw, and Mr. G. M. Fowlds. In the subsequent discussion it seemed to be the general opinion that advertising, instead cf adding to the cost of goods, was a factor in promoting lower prices owing to the increased demand and output. The more go<Kls a firm sold the less they could be sold for. Therefore, it was agreed that ultimately the consumers paid for advertising and to their own better advantage. Mr. J. S. Milne, having resigned the position of vice-president, for health reasons, Mr. E. F. Chandler was appointed to the position. Vacancies on the executive committee were filled by the election of Messrs. L. A. Eady and Phil Hayward. The executive committee wa s authorised to act as a vigilance committee. A syllabus was prepared for the ensuing six months.
