REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS association-.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. ' The railway working account from April ' j 1 to August 16 shows that the revenue • totalled £2.026,443. compared with ■ £1,872.574 for the corresponding period i last vear. The expenditure was i £1.383,394, as aaginst £1,226,044. i The number of passengers carried increased by 2113. though there was a de- ' crease of 157,624 in the second-class pas- ■ sengers using return tickets. The number of live stock carried was 2.839.910. a decrease of 18,659. i The goods traffic showed a decrease of ! 29,286 tons.
