VICTORY WAR LOAN.
FEELING OF CONFIDENCE.
Although subscriptions in Auckland to the Victory War Loan of £10,000.000 are as yet comparatively small, there appears to be a feeling of confidence that investors will rise to the occasion. The experience of the banks confirms this view, many inquiries having been made and the applications held over until the last day, September 25. Sharebrokers report having done little business in the loan.
The terms of the loan, one prominent broker said yesterday, were all to the advantage of the wealthy man, and there was nothing attractive to the small man. Many people taxed their resources with the two previous loans, and now felt that they had done their duty, Subscriptions at the post office continue to be small.
