FAVOURABLE CONSIDERATION.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER.]
WELLINGTON. Thursday
The debate on the report of the Industrie? Committee was concluded in the House of Representatives this morning, after the telegraph office closed.
Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby (Wairarapa) rose to reply at 2.5 am. He claimed that the State coal mine was not. and never had been, a State mine in the real sense of the word. The employees were ii,st as any other coal mine employees. Rut. when the country nationalised the mines .t would have to give every m.-in koine into the pits an interest and a share in them. If the Government would set itself to carry out the recommendations Li the committee, the country would haye arrived at the dawning of a better day. The motion that the report be referred to the Government, for' favourable consideration was carried.
The House rose at 2.16 am
