THE PRICE OF FOOD.
EARLY FALL EXPECTED. AMERICA'S GREAT SURPLUS. A. and N.Z. NEW YORK. Sept. 14. Mr. H. C. Hoover, American Food Administrator in Europe, has arrived from Europe aboard the Aquitania.
In an interview, he predicted a world-wide decrease in food prices before long. He warned the people of the United States that an enormous surplus of food and supplies was collecting in the country. If the United Sftates did not establish credits abroad the country would face difficulties of great overproduction. Speaking of conditions in Europe, he said that production was far below what it was at the time of the armistice. Normal conditions would not return until the Peace Treaty was ratified by the United States.
