"SHELL-SHOCK" CASES.
CRITICISM OF TREATMENT. [BT TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] GISBOENE. Monday. It was reported at a meeting of the Citizens' Defence Committee to-day that the Gisborne Labour Representation Committee had discussed the treatment of shell-shock cases, and had passed the following resolution:—
" That this meeting deplores the action of the authorities in sending a number of returned soldiers, namely, shell-shock cases, to a public asylum, where their surroundings greatly minimise their chances of recovery, and strongly urges that immediate steps be taken for the establishment of special places throughout the Dominion for the treatment of affected men." - It was decided to support the resolution and communicate with the Minister.
