' J The 64-th anrraal meeting of members of [ the Baptist Tabernacle was held last even- •, tag. The pastes. Rev. H- Knowles Kemp--1 ton, presided over a large attendance. J, The annual report, which was read by the secretary, Mr. T. F. Hill showed thai) the total number of members oa July 31 was 599, a net increase of 22 as compared * with the previous year. Eight members * died during the year. Of the 208 mem- « bers of the church who had gone to the ;, front 47 were still to return. Reference * was made to the memorial to the members ' who had fallen in the war,, and the serl x vices of Sib. A- Turley in connection with . the keeping of the roll of honour records I were acknowledged. Regret wae expressed j at the approaching departure of the pastor I and it was stated that the appointment of » a successor to Mr. Kenrptoit had not yet * , been made. " j The report of the treasurer, Mr. W. H--1' Lamb, showed that the gross receipts for -1 the year had been £3265, of which £1300 J was given for usual church work and £1300 J- for mission and outside objects. There I had been an anonymous donation of £500 J toward the Indian mission field. The balI ance in hand was £4L 1 1 The reiTTemeat of Mr. J. A., Hart, elder, » and Mr. Ogilvie, envelope distributor, was * announced. The Rev. W. L. Salter was { elected an elder. Messrs. W. E. Bush, s BE. J. Edraiaton, W. Lambaunra, and t Percy WPliams were elected deacons. J Other officers were re-elected aa follows — Choirmaster, Mr. A. E. Wilson; treasurer, a Mr. W. H. Lamb; secretary Mr. T. F. 1 Hill. I The church's 64th anniversary services 5 will be held next Sunday, and the public .. .farewell to the retiring pastor will he held '" on Tuesday next.
