COMPLAINT BY WORKERS.
FEES TO BE DISCONTINUED. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIKI. Friday. At the monthly meeting of the Waihi Borough Council last night a letter was > received from the secretary of the Waihi * Council of Workers, stating that at tfaa : •'.. last meeting of the advisory board of . the council the question of tOe Borough, i Council being part and parcel of the employers' federation was discussed at. length. He was instructed to forward a protest against the council being affiliated with the employers' federation, and also to protest against any public moneys ; be:;ng spent in payment of fees to thsi; employers' federation. .J?i" Mr. Callaghan said he was not ifc'_ favour of continuing the contribution,\ The community was a working commu- / nity, and not in sympathy with such aft arrangement. *>.$£ - - Mr. Moon was of the same opinion, ..■•, and saw no reason why the public fumis should go to the support of the .employers'-, federation.
