TEN YEARS' IMPRISONMENT.
"NOT FIT TO BE AT LARGE." [BT TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Friday. In the Supreme Court to-day, for attempting to commit an indecent assault on a malsj James Whiting was sentenced to ten ygars' imprisonment. When passing sentence, Mr. Justice Stringer, addressing the prisoner, said. "It was fortunate for yon that your victim was not a young child. I would have had to consider giving you some additional punishment to imprisonment. You are ndi fit to be at large among decent members of society." Horace Benjamin Martin, charged with attempted indecent assault on a boy, and who had been remanded for medical examination, was sentenced to five Years' reformative treatment.
