SHOES THAT PINCH.
Lucky is she who has never suffered from a shoe which pinches ! It is the more annoying when it happens with a pair which fitted quite perfectly when tried on in the shop and even for a few wearings afterwards. Then for no known reason one shoe, begis to pinch in just one place. There is, however, a very simple home remedy which will do away with the trouble. Steel yourself to endure the agony of wearing the shoe for a little longer; then lay over the spot where the suffering is a cloth wrung out (as nearly dry as possible) in boiling water. Repeat this two or three times, if necessary, till the shoe is quite easy, then keep it on the foot till cool ana quite dry; it should never be really wet. Even very obstinate cases will often yield to this gentle treatment, which has the advantage, besides being nuilte harmless, of being cheap and available for everyone, whether in town or in a remote country village.
