Admiral Fitzmaurico sent a mission to Denizli, on the Smyrna railway, under Captain Atkinson, to demand the return of the women and children deported from Aidin, 50 miles south-east of Smyrna. The Turks arrested the mission, but released its members after two days, ordering them to return to Smyrna and refusing to liberate the deportees. , ' ;
