Representations regarding the necessity for loading, facilities for stock at the rail- i way station and a road to ,Te Kuiti Intel J been made to the Government, and ,a ! reply was received some weeks ago from the Minister for ; Railways stating that j the works "had been scheduled as ''most urgent.". ' , " The president, Mr. A. L. Stedman, suggested - that the chamber inquire of the Minister as to %hat step| had been taken since then. "If we keep on knockirig at the door," he remarked, "we may hope i that some -day it will \ open. The settlers' j hardships are very;great.',' ! The suggestion was adopted. < ..
