| DECISIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE. The executive of the Auckland Rugby Union met in the Sports Club last evening. Mr. N. R. Jones presided, and welcomed Mr. J. Drummond, a new member of the executive. There -were also present: Messrs. H. T. Revell, B. W. Hayson, Harry Frost, A. Webster, E. Hinton, Clay, and J. Conyngham. The resignations of the honorary treasurer, Mr. J ISviaame. and of Mr. F. 3. Ohlson ■were received with regret. Mr. H. Crawford was appointed treasurer, and Mr. A. _ Baylias, of the Referees' Association, assistant treasurer. Letters were received from Sister Esther and the Salvation Army, acknowledging the receipt of money collected as a result of the annual charity match. A request was received from the Whangarei Rugby Union for a team to play at Whangarei on August 16. The request was deferred. Sub-committees were rearranged , as follows:—Match committee, Messrs. KINGS - GRAMMAR MATCH. A special general meeting of the Auckland Secondary Schools Rugby Union was held yesterday afternoon. After hearing the report of the delegate. Mr. H. T. Revell. concerning the playing of the five amended rules, the union decided that, while., recognising the great value of the amendments to the Rugby game, it supported the action of its delegate at the meeting of delegates on July 11. ' It was decided to make a redraw of matches for the rest of the season. It wa-s notified by the" Selection Committee that Eden Park had been selected for the Grammar-King's match. It was stated by a delegate that _in the event of this decision being carried out. a deadlock would arise. . At the close of the meeting, the Grammar delegate, Mr. Coldham, stated that his team would waive their right to Eden Park, and would consent to play at the Show Ground. It was decided to play the match at the Show Ground on Saturday.

CANTERBURY UNION'S DECISION. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHUKCH, Wednesday. The executive < of the Canterbury Rugby Union passed the following resolution unanimously at its meeting last night: — '" That in commemoration of the signing of peace, and in recognition of the services rendered to the Empire by the footballers of Canterbury, this committee, subject to the approval of the New Zealand' Rugby Union, decides to remove all disqualifications of players under its jurisdiction." It was decided that notwithstanding the restricted railway service that the southern tour of the Canterbury representative team be carried out as arranged, namely, to play South Canterbury on August 7; Otago on August 9, and Southland on August 13.

MEETING OF MEMBERS. The Rugby Referees' Association met in the Sports Club last evening, the president, Mr. A. Wetherilt, occupying the chair. There were also present:—Messrs W. J. Meredith. Sam Kronfeld. Stack. F. Stubbing. Devore, Moore, J. W. Chrichton, Bayliss] Grigg, Hancock, Brewer, Saunders, de Vere, dimming, Lenihan, Tilley. The chairman of the Waihi Referees' Association, Mr. E. Harris, and a member, Mr. O. Dunstan. were welcomed by the president. Mr. Harris thanked the referees, and expressed the Wuihi members' support of the amended rules. General discussion on rulings and other matters took place. " Digger."— Elliott and V. Keogh left New Zealand in the first Maori football team in 1883. J. A. Warbrick was the captain of the team.

NEW ZEALAND TOURING TEAM. SAILING FOR HOME TO-DAY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9-45 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 23. The New Zealand League football team sails in the Mania on Thursday. An Australian League team to tour New Zealand leaves about August 13 or 16, if a steamer is available. THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League met last evening, Mr. J. Cariaw presiding. There were also present Messrs. E. Stallworthy, T. Fielding, A. Ball, B. Powell. A. Brockles, R. McDonald. G. Whitley, B. Pollock, and I. Culpan (secretary). A letter was received from the 'Wellington League suggesting that an Auckland representative team should play the Wellington representatives on the Basin Reserve, Wellington, on August 23. The secretary was instructed to reply stating that it was impossible to make definite arrangements for a southern tour until the return of the New Zealand touring team from Australia. The donation of a handsome cup, for competition by second grade teams, by Mr. G. Wright, an honorary member of the League Referees' Association, was accepted with thanks.

It was decided to grant permission to the promoters of the Watersiders' Brass Band to take un a collection in aid of the band at a match later in the season. In response to a suggestion that the ban should be removed from all suspended league players, in recognition of the restoration of peace, it was decided that all suspended players should be requested to appear before the committee, when action would be taken. The nomination of Mr. T. Avery, of the Maritime Club, to receive the New Zealand Council's medallion of life- membership, was approved. It was decided to adhere to the previous decision of the- committee that R. Mitchell should be allowed to play for the Marist Old Boys' Club. As a result of discussion regarding the interpretation of the rules relating to the Thacker Shield competition, the secretary was instructed to write to the Canterbury League requesting a ruling by that body on, the rules in question.

A proposal by the Junior Advisory Board thai & junior representative team should be sent to play either the Wellington or Hawke'a -Bay . junior . representatives -was considered, ana .the secretory was instructed to communicate with the leagues mentioned and obtain, information as to the prospects of arranging such matches. The above rule seemed to be absolutely forgotten during the matches on Saturday and Monday, the result being the disablement of a Ponsonby player, who should have been protected. . Your referees ■will have to be a touch stricter; otherwise visiting teams to New South Wales will be penalised a good deal.
