COASTAL STEAMER DAMAGED.
RESULT OF MISHAP AT PATEA.

WANGANDI, Monday.
The steamer Kapuni, which struck tho breakwater when leaving Patea for Wellington, put in here to-day, leaking badly. She is being temporarily repaired, and will probably proceed to Wellington to-morrow. The cargo of cheese, which is undamaged, will be transhipped to the Hawera.
