SALES AT WHAKATANE.

WHAKATANE, Wednesday.
Several large purchases of land hara been made in the Whakatanc district recently. Mr. F. Elliott, of Feliding', bought 325 acres from Mr. G. Powell at £60 an acre. Mr. P. Keegan sold 24C0 acres in Whakatane Valley at £13 an acre, to Mr. R. Mitchell, of Gisborne. Mr. Keegan bought 220 acres from Messrs. Souter Bros, at £70 an acre, the total being £15,000. Mr. T. Kirk bought 1000 on the Ran.'itaiki Plains from Mr. T. Walker at £27 ail acre.
