He will visit Dunedui before returning to Auckland. Brigadier-General G. S. Richardson wan accorded a civic reception in Christchurdi yesterday, says a Press Association message. Mr. Justice Ednards, who has been indisposed for some time, is expected to resumo his Supremo Court duties at the end of the present week. The Rev, Dr. G'.bb, of St. John's Church, Wellington, who has been indisposed for some time, intends to leave Wellington shortly for a complete rest. Mr. W. M. Sinclair, manager of t-hs Bank of New Zealand, Lawrence, for nearly 20 years, will retire at the end of this month. His successor will be Mr. P.. A. Frisk, of the Gore staff, and formerly accountant at Lawrence. Dr. Diamond Jenness, son of Mr. G. Jenness, of Lower Hutt, is to pay a short visit to New Zealand before resuming work with the Canadian Government. From an English university he went to study anthropology among tha wildest tribes of the Pacific Islands, and then journey to the Arctic regions with Stcf • ansson to study the Esquimaux. On returning to civilisation Dr. Jenness enlisted in the Canadian Array as a private, and is now under engagement to the Canadian Government to prepare a record of hi* experiences for publication.
