MAY DAY RIOTING.
CASUALTIES IN PARIS. 250 OF POLICE INJURED. Australian and N.Z. Cabin Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, May 3. Thursday night passed quietly after the May Day rioting. The e wore 250 of the police wounded, 115 seriously. The civilian casualties are not stated. The crowd used revolvers at several points. One of the crowd was shot dead at the Place de l'Opera. The injuries received were chiefly due to sabres, batons and sticks.
A meeting of the General Federation of Labour condemned the i action of the Government. It will meet again to-day to consider the situation. The Socialists will interpellate the Government when the Chamber of Deputies meets. BOSTON DISTURBANCES. THREE POLICEMEN SHOT. A, and N.Z. NEW YORK, May 2. Three policemen were shot and a number of persons were injured during May Day riots between soldiers, sailors, and radicals. A. and N.Z. LONDON. May 2. Dublin workers declared Thursday a public holiday, and the trams, trains, public services, and newspapers were suspended.
